Reece Mastin is the Winner of The X Factor 2011

Reece Mastin is the winner of The X Factor 2011!

The 16-year-old rocker from Adelaide beat out formers such as Andrew Wishart and Perth’s Johnny Ruffo.

Reece has scored a contract with Sony, and his debut single, “Good Night,” is available to download from iTunes. Reece thanked his family, friends, fans, and his mentor, Guy Sebastian, who he looks up to.

The announcement of Reece’s victory came at the end of a second grand final night for The X Factor, where famous guests included The Fray and Kylie Minogue; they also hit the stage last night and performed with Andrew and Reece respectively. The show was filled with flashbacks, from the very first auditions, through boot camp and to the live shows. Johnny was the first to be eliminated, but he was soon back onstage to sing songs from The Beatles with the top 12 acts and Iraq war survivor Emmanuel Kelly, who touched hearts back in the audition stages.

Reece and Andrew’s journeys were shown onscreen before they performed again; Andrew’s rendition of “With or Without You” had an extra personal touch as he shared photos from his wedding and family with the audience. Then, at the conclusion of an exciting and emotional show, Luke Jacobz had his gold envelope at the ready and announced Reece’s name. Congratulations to Reece for winning The X Factor2011!
